About Melanie
With over 30 years experience in Veterinary Practice and Industry, starting with Veterinary Nursing in 1990, I developed a passion for Practice Development at an early stage in my career. After gaining experience in industry, I launched Vet Assist in 2003 to help Practitioners develop their premises, to make them fit for purpose for their Team, Clients and most importantly their Patients! With over 100 projects completed nationwide, ranging from extensions to green field sites.
I expanded my skill set after studying Agriculture, Digital marketing, Leadership and Management and more recently Coaching and Fear Free Practice which allows me to work with Practices to help develop their Team, their services, marketing strategies and work with individuals to develop their own skill sets. My passion for animal health and well being is what drives me and I am very fortunate to be able to work with so many like minded practices. I have built a rapport and good working relationship with many practices over the years, this has resulted in word of mouth referrals which I believe is testament to the quality of my service and work ethic.
Outside of VetAssist I enjoy farming with my Husband as we have a small herd of Pedigree Dexter Cattle and share our home with horses, ponies, dogs and cats in the beautiful landscape of the Burren ,County Clare in the west of Ireland.

Business Development
VetAssist can engage with the practice by performing a Business Triage (review), which by spending a day in your practice working alongside the practice team, can recognize new business opportunities and develop business services.
Practice-Design
Interpreting a practices specific needs into a working layout and design, fit to grow and develop your business into.While looking at the team’s, clients and most importantly patients needs, to create a veterinary practice layout fit for purpose.
Training & Mentoring
VetAssist can provide one to one or group training, delivered remotely or on site to accommodate the practice needs. There are various training sessions available such as Communication Skills, Nurse Clinics, Leadership and Management, Marketing and Mentoring.
